Casual Supervisor Technician. Casual hours. Sue Townsend Theatre. Two positions available.
We are looking to recruit a knowledgeable and creative Casual Supervisor Technician to support the external hirers of Sue Townsend Theatre and our internal college events, the candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends.
Sue Townsend Theatre is part of Leicester College’s Performing Arts and Music department. Students from our Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre and Music Performance courses present a busy performance schedule throughout the academic year and this role may also support them in the planning, preparation and assisting of the many brilliant productions they stage.
The role will be focused on ensuring high quality technical support, including lighting and sound design and operation, technical assistance to the hirer of the building, and responsibility for parts of the building during a hire period. You may also be required to support periods of maintenance and updating our facilities and equipment.
You will be able to support hirers individually, carrying out the technical requirements of each performance to ensure hirers receive an excellent experience during their time with us. This role will also undertake responsibilities to ensure that Health and Safety is always managed. Ideally, you will hold industry linked qualifications, or substantial relevant experience related to the post. Understanding of programming and operating ETC lighting desks is preferred, but some lighting experience is essential.
The successful applicant will, along with the front of house staff, be responsible for ensuring the building is well presented and prepared for performances and audiences. The successful candidate will work within the Performing Arts and Music technician team and be an innovative, organised and proactive team member.

You will be qualified to at least a Level 5 in the vocational area and have the ability and experience to deliver IT courses at Levels 3 to 5 (HE). You will have achieved a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in maths and English. Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
Experience of delivering on HNDs, BTEC courses or T levels and the ability or experience to deliver courses on Cloud computing and Cyber-security would be an advantage. Experience of other vendor certifications such as Cisco, CompTIA and Microsoft Professional would also be an advantage.

The course is designed to support those students who have been disengaged, or out of education for some time.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced ICT Service Delivery Engineer to join our Infrastructure Support Team. In this role you will develop and manage the College network / telecoms systems and ICT infrastructure, always ensuring robust and reliable services that support the needs of the College staff and students.
The team is a highly technical and experienced department within the College, supporting and developing an extensive range of ICT facilities, working within an ITIL framework to support a diverse user community.
